Baseball still depends on someone or something in front of the hitter. Derby Box is Diamond Derby’s patent-pending pitch delivery platform, designed to automate an approachable moving baseball while keeping people and delivery equipment outside the hitter’s sightline and ball path.

Why Derby Box

Solo Hitting Has Always Forced a Tradeoff.

A tee is solo and approachable, but the baseball is stationary. Human front toss gives you an approachable moving baseball, but requires another person. Conventional automated pitching delivers a moving baseball, but is generally designed around training. Derby Box is being developed around a simpler combination: solo + approachable + moving.

Tanner Bykowski

I spent five years developing Diamond Derby before going all-in. In February 2026, I moved 2,200 miles from Phoenix to Raleigh-Durham to pursue the first deployment in the market I believe gives it the best chance to work.

What is the Homerun Park?

The Homerun Park is Diamond Derby’s first full-scale Derby Box deployment, planned for Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC. Once Derby Box is proven, the Homerun Park turns that platform into a social group Baseball Lite experience built around the swing. Follow Deployment 1.
